 Mar 1, 2007 this problem was made known.This information is when the first reports were being published about this bad hardware problem. As hp tries to pretend to not know about this, you can read this forum to see how early Hp knew about this. This gives you legal ground to know that hp has known for some time that they were selling defective laptops.
